The Dental Assistant will be responsible for general clinic administrative work and maintenance, as well as completing lab work under the direction of the dentist. The Dental Assistant’s primary responsibility is to prepare the examination rooms for appointments by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for the dentist. They also assist the dentist during their procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs throughout the appointment. The Dental Assistant may also be responsible for greeting patients as they arrive, submitting billing details to the insurance company and scheduling the patient’s next appointment before they leave the clinic. Other duties and responsibilities include: update and maintaining patient charts, assist with routine cleanings, provide oral hygiene and instruction, provide verbal post op instructions after surgeries and procedures, order office supplies etc.

Yes, our students are required to have a high school diploma or GED to enroll in our Dental Assisting course.
We limit classes to no more than 5 students per class.
The total cost of the program is $5,500 This includes registration, books/supplies, lab jacket, and additional course costs.
DAEC’ goal is to graduate well prepared and qualified students to start a successful career as an entry-level dental assistant. Career opportunities information and support is provided at no extra charge; however, there is no guaranteed employment implied or expressed upon graduation.
Yes! We offer evening and weekend classes. Our courses are made to fit any work schedule! Classes are held Monday 6:00pm-9:00pm, Tuesday 6:30pm-9:30pm, Wednesday 6:30pm-9:30pm, Thursday 6:00pm-9:00pm, Friday 1:00pm-4:00pm and Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm.
DAEC offers a certificate upon completion of our program, regulated by the State of Nebraska.
Nebraska does not require Dental Assistants to have a degree or certification to attain employment. After successful completion of the program, the student will have the confidence ad skills to be a well qualified dental assistant.
